LANCASTER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Volunteers with Wildlife 911 Northern Neck , an organization dedicated to rescuing injured and orphaned wildlife, rescued a bald eagle from a cornfield after it had hit power lines and came into contact with electricity.

According to a spokesperson for the organization, the group was established in the fall of 2023 and it has since amassed more than 330 members.

The spokesperson said on Tuesday, Jan. 30, the bird was found after it had hit power lines and had experienced electric shock. The eagle was then taken in critical condition to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.
