One dead, three people seriously hurt in head-on crash in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person has died and three people are seriously hurt after a head-on crash in Chesterfield County Wednesday evening.

First responders responded to the 2200 block of Buford Road just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, for report of a crash.

When they arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles that had been involved in a head-on collision, according to the Chesterfield County Police Department.

According to a press release from police on Wednesday, four adults were seriously injured in the crash. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

In an updated press release on Thursday, Aug. 15, police said one of the four people injured had died due to their injuries.

North and southbound Buford Road between Hazen and Polk streets was closed for an extended period as first responders worked the scene, though the area later reopened.
