    Caller falsely reports active shooter on Greensville County High School campus

    GREENSVILLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A caller falsely reported that there was an active shooter on the campus of Greensville County High School in the afternoon on Monday, according to a post to social media by the school system .

    According to school officials, the call came in in the afternoon on Monday, Aug. 19, and emergency protocols were initiated.

    Law enforcement responded to the school, and after a thorough investigation, school officials said it was determined the call was a false report.

    The school system says it is working with law enforcement to identify the person or people involved in the call.

    Additional support will be provided to students and staff in the days after the false call, according to school officials.
