GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Goochland High School is looking for veterans for its 3rd Annual Veterans project.

The Goochland High School Veterans Project is once again seeking to connect with veterans from the local community for its annual project.

For three years, Rachel Tate — along with her 11th-grade dual-enrollment students — will be “adopting” veterans and learning from them during activities. They will also hold recognition events for veterans.

According to Goochland County Public Schools, there are more than 120 Goochland High School students that will participate this year in the Annual Veterans Project.

The school said the activities for this year will include recognition during half-time at home football games, memorial remembrances, initiatives for veteran support and a trip to Washington, D.C.

Veterans who participate will share their experiences with students at Interview Day on Thursday, Sept. 19.
