SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Following a crash involving a tractor-trailer that was carrying hazardous material, two southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed in Spotsylvania County.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, emergency responders were one scene, and lanes were closed as crews worked to clear it.

Travelers heading south of Fredericksburg were asked to consider an alternate southbound route to avoid delays, like Route 301, according to the department.

All lanes opened and the area later cleared.
