    Afro Fest returning to Dogwood Dell this weekend

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Come celebrate an amazing day of culture and community at the 2024 Afro Fest, which is returning to Dogwood Dell this weekend.

    The 2024 Afro Fest kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 31 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Dogwood Dell, located at 600 South Arthur Ashe Blvd. The festival is a free and family-friendly event.

    According to the City of Richmond, the event will feature crafty vendors, delicious foods and a fun-packed kids zone and live musical performances.

    Catch musical performances from Nuke Major, Slymboyz, Rhythim and The Biney Dancers.

    Festival activities will include:

    • Vendors
    • African cuisines
    • A Soccer Tournament Awards ceremony
    • Free health screenings
    • Kids zone and a game truck
    • Live Music
    • Drum circle

    Afro Fest is sponsored by the City of Richmond, African Community Network, ReEstablish Richmond, Dominion Energy, State Farm and Aetna.
