    Free all-girls flag football clinics taking place in Chesterfield

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A free flag football clinic for middle school and high school girls in the Richmond area will take place in Chesterfield County later this month.

    The clinic, which will be hosted by the Richmond-based Amateur Sports Company and NFL Flag, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center’s Hull Campus, which is located at 13900 Hull Street Road North.     Flag football is growing in popularity across the world and will be featured in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles .

    According to the Amateur Sports Company, there are currently women’s flag football programs at 17 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) schools and six National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) schools — and 100 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) schools “have expressed interest” in establishing women’s flag football programs.
