BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) — The Bluffton baseball advances to the next round of the Class AAAA Lower State bracket after the game was called because of weather in the bottom of the sixth inning on May 6 at May River High School.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth inning. A sacrifice fly gave Bluffton a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, play was suspended because of lightning and then later because of rain play was not able to resume. The baseball games are official contests after five innings are in the books.

Bluffton will play at Lucy Beckham on May 10 for a spot in the Lower State Championship against North Myrtle Beach.

Out in Beaufort, play will resume in the Class AAA Lower District 1 Championship game with Beaufort leading Gilbert, 5-3.
