HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WSAV)—At least one person was safely removed from a car after it apparently hydroplaned on I-95 North outside of Hardeeville on Tuesday.

In the video, fire rescue can be seen arriving on scene to assist the car turned on its side.

With the increase in rainfall and water on the roads, proceed with caution. Hydroplaning can happen with wet roads, which Tropical Storm Debby has brought to the Southeast.

If you feel that your car is starting to hydroplane, let off the gas, stay calm and try to wait for your car to come to a stop. Hitting the breaks or overcorrecting your steering wheel can cause you to lose control of your vehicle.

To try to prevent hydroplaning, slow down, avoid standing water, ensure your tires are in good condition and try to follow the path of the car in front of you.
