15 for 15: Beaufort Eagles

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) – Beaufort Eagles Coach Bryce Lybrand said the standard is always the same, which is to win region and state championships.

Last year, the Eagles went 7-5 overall and lost in the second round of the playoffs.

They went 2-2 in the region to finish third. Beaufort is in a new region this year, which includes Bluffton, May River, Colleton County and Hilton Head. They feel ready for the challenge.

“I think we have a lot of skill,” Lybrand said, “which is always a good thing. We lost some of the offensive-defensive line that we have to fill out. I think the seniors have kind of stepped in and pushed everybody so, so far, it’s been good.”

Beaufort’s quest to make it back to the state title game starts August 23 on the road against Beaufort.
