SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV)—Forbes ranked Georgia in the bottom five most confrontational drivers for 2024.

Georgian drivers said that 6.5% of them have had other drivers exit a vehicle to yell or fight with them and only 2.5% said that they have experienced road rage from other Georgian drivers. The survey from Forbes said that Georgia is ranked 47th out of the 50 states for most confrontational drivers.

Out of the 50 states, only North Dakota, South Dakota and Hawaii have less reported confrontational drivers than Georgia.

Forbes offered more information that they collected including how only 8.5% of people surveyed had been forced off the road and 26% had been blocked from merging or changing lanes. Comparing this to a top five state, like Missouri at number two, who said that 13.5% of their surveyed population had been forced off the road, but 37% had been blocked from merging or changing lanes.

Other statistics were things such as being tailgated, where Georgians reported that 47.5% had been, and being insulted or threatened which 18.5% had been.

In 2023, Georgia was ranked 31st.

Forbes does disclose that the data used for this survey came from 10,000 licensed U.S. drivers, with at least 200 drivers from each state, who were at least 18 years old and own or lease at least one car. They also said that this survey was conducted by market research company Talker Research, in accordance with the Market Research Society’s code of conduct and was collected between May 30 and June 14, 2024.
