Standoff in Hinesville ends in man’s arrest on Saturday

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) – A standoff in Hinesville ended with an arrest on Saturday afternoon, according to the Hinesville Police Department (HPD).

HPD says a man who was intoxicated was seen waving a gun and threatening to shoot people near Elm St. and Demere St.

While officers were on their way to the scene, they say the man entered a home and threatened to shoot a woman inside of the home.

HPD says the woman was able to leave the house and officers were able to get the man to come outside, then he was tased and arrested.

HPD has not released the name of the man nor charges he faces.
