ABBEVILLE, S.C.(WSPA) – A Waterloo man died Sunday morning from injuries he sustained in a wreck Saturday evening.

According to the State Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist was driving on Diamond Mine Road when he went off the left side of the road and hit a ditch, then a tree. Emergency crews were called to the scene just before midnight, and paramedics attempted to give life-saving aid to the cyclist before taking him to the hospital.

According to the Abbeville County Coroner’s Office, the driver of the motorcycle, Audric H Jackson, 33, died just before 1 a.m. at the Abbeville Area Emergency Department.

The coroner’s office said Jackson’s death was a “tragic accident.” Jackson was wearing a helmet and protective riding gear at the time of the wreck.

    The wreck remains under investigation.
