GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person is dead after reportedly shooting two family members and himself Tuesday night at a Greenville County home.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call regarding the shooting came in at around 8:50 p.m. Deputies arrived at a home on North Harrison Bridge Road where investigators found one man and two women with gunshot wounds.

The man, identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as 37-year-old Charles Thomas Swigon II, was confirmed dead at the scene.

Further into the investigation, deputies determined that the shooting was a result of a familial dispute.

Detectives believe that Swigon shot his relatives and then shot himself.

The women were taken to the hospital where they remain in critical condition.

No additional suspects are believed to be involved in the shooting, according to deputies.

Deputies tell us it’s not often they deal with situations like these, and when they do, it quickly becomes all hands on deck.

“This is something that is certainly uncommon, just dealing with one individual who sustained a gunshot wound can be difficult enough for our investigators, but they just worked diligently all throughout the night and into the morning,” said Lt. Ryan Flood with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

He said they have been working closely with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.

“We’re glad that there’s at least some sort of closure that we can bring that they are able to tie all the pieces together and figure out who was responsible for this heinous act but again our thoughts and prayers just go out to all the family and those who are involved in this tragic incident,” said Lt. Flood.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
