BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – What’s so cool about manufacturing? Seven local schools in Bedford and Blair Counties learned the answer to that question by working with businesses in the area.

“I love seeing how a simple person can take something of their dreams and turn it into a reality,” Northern Bedford student Emily Hinkle said.

“One day (manufacturers) could have an idea and start their own business,” Northern Bedford student Braden Hinkle said. “(It’s) pretty cool to make your own dream a reality.”

The projects shows students how they can make their future dreams a reality.

“This could help high schoolers who are maybe looking for a job,” Claysburg-Kimmel student Lauren Imler said. “They could use this to help them figure out what they’re interested in.

It also provides an avenue for students that may not pursue high education.

“You don’t have to go to college,” Bedford student Aliviah Walls said. “You can do stuff that’s around this area like Kennametal and these different places.”

To reflect on the experience, students have to manufacture their own video project that can be voted on here from April 9-11.

“We see all these steps coming together leading up to this big thing and it’s really cool how to see they take this one idea and take it to a reality,” Emily Hinkle said.
