Rep. Takac hosting scam seminar, senior fair in Centre County

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — State Rep. Paul Takac (D-Centre) announced Thursday that he’ll be hosting a scam seminar and a senior fair in Benner Township.

The senior fair and scam seminar will take place at Centre Care, located at 250 Persia Road, on Thursday, May 23. The fair is set to run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the scam seminar taking place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will be filled with activities with representatives from Pennsylvania State agencies, including the departments of banking and securities, aging and others who will help educate those to prevent scams affecting our communities.

“In today’s rapidly changing world, it is crucial that we remain vigilant against the ever-increasing and evolving threat of scams, particularly those targeting our senior community,” Takac said.

Betsy Boyer, Centre Care board president, added the following: “Centre Care is looking forward to showcasing our facility and partnering with Representative Takac for the event. Representative Takac has been a strong advocate for Centre Care in Harrisburg and we look forward to making this an annual event.”
