CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced ramp closures on State Route-PA 56, also known as the Johnstown Expressway.

From Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24, the westbound ramp from U.S. 219 South and the eastbound ramp onto U.S. 219 South will be closed. A traffic detour using Solomon Run Road and Galleria Drive will be in place.

The work represents the next phase of the State Route-PA 56 (Johnstown Expressway) Exit and Entrance Ramp Rehabilitation Project, located in Richland and Stoneycreek townships and the City of Johnstown, which includes rehabilitation of the traveled roadway, replacing and upgrading of existing guiderail and drainage systems and preservation of four structures. Quaker Sales in Johnstown is the general contractor for the two-year, $14.7 million project.
