Over 100 kids attend trout fishing derby in Clearfield County

Clearfield County, PA — The Bennett’s Valley Rod and Gun Club hosted the 10th Annual Dave Long Memorial Kids Trout Fishing Derby on May 18 at Parker Dam State Park.

The family of Dave Long helped organize the event which hosted a total of 115 kids this year. Dave Long was an avid outdoorsman and fished at Parker Dam State Park regularly with his siblings.

This years derby brought in a lot of fish with the winning trout measuring 18 1/4 inches. However, that wasn’t the biggest fish caught at this years derby. With the help from older brother Devin, Aiden Knarr was able to bring in an 8lb 12oz. largemouth bass.

“We want to send a huge thank you to all of the kids and their families for coming out and attending our 10th annual derby,” the Long family said.
