Free food to be distributed to military members in Clearfield County

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania will be providing free meals to qualifying military members and their families at an event in DuBois.

The military share food distribution will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Noon in the DuBois Alliance Church parking lot (1004 S. Main Street). The event is a free program for an income-qualifying active or retired military member and their immediate family in Clearfield County.

Pre-registration is required for this distribution and you must do so by Friday, September 6. You can find out if you qualify and register by contacting Second Harvest at (814) 459-3663 ext 117.

In northwest Pennsylvania, nearly 18% of households receiving food assistance have at least one member who has served in the military, according to Second Harvest . The military share was designed to provide fresh food for families with at least one member who has served in the armed forces.

• 100% Fruit Juice
• Cereal
• Crackers
• Granola Bars
• Pasta
• Peanut Butter
• Soups
• Apples
• Broccoli
• Carrots
• Corn
• Lettuce
• Onions
• Oranges
• Potatoes
• Strawberries
• Tomatoes
• Ground Beef
• Ground Turkey
• Chicken Quarters
• Canned Chicken
• Canned Tuna

Those who registered are advised to bring a valid ID and military verification to the event.
