BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Railroad cross maintenance will close a Duncansville road starting Monday.

Norfolk Southern will be performing maintenance, removal and replacement of the railroad crossing at the Wye Sitches located on Third Ave. (U.S. 22). Because of this, Third Ave. between Plank Road (Route 1001) and Sixth Ave. (Route 764) will be closed starting at midnight on Aug. 19 through midnight on Aug. 21.

With the closure in place, traffic will be detoured as follows. Third Ave. to Plank Road to Municipal Drive (Route 1002) to Sixth Ave. back to Third Ave. Local traffic on Third Ave. will be given access to Sixth Ave. to Forsht Drive.

Traffic will not be allowed to use Third Ave. at the rail crossing at any time. Motorists, including trucks and larger vehicles, are advised to follow the signed detour due to weight restrictions on roadways within the Duncansville Borough limits.
