Sheetz or Wawa: VP nominee Walz weighs in on the Pennsylvania debate

(WTAJ) — Sheetz or Wawa? It’s a decades-long debate here in Pennsylvania, however, Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz somehow skirted around the topic.

Walz, the current governor of Minnesota, was at a breakfast Monday with Pennsylvania delegates ahead of the Democratic National Convention when the “War of Convenience Stores” came up, according to Delaware Online .

Walz admitted that when he was in Pennsylvania he stopped at Sheetz, drawing some boos from the Wawa fans.

Instead of taking sides with Sheetz or Wawa, Walz sidestepped the heated debate reportedly saying: “Here’s my thing – Kwik Trip. In the Midwest, it’s Kwik Trip.”

Kwik Trip has roughly 800 stores in Minnesota and other states, slightly more than what Sheetz boasts and just under the nearly 1,000 stores Wawa touts.

As for Pennsylvanians, the “war” will rage on between Sheetz and Wawa, although another contender has entered the ring — Rutter’s.
