    Altoona police investigate series of catalytic converter thefts over the summer

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Altoona police continue investigating after a series of catalytic converter thefts happened throughout the city over the summer.

    According to Altoona police, a series of thefts happened July 20, in the early morning hours. Catalytic converters were cut from multiple Mitsubishi Outlanders within the city. Police said they were able to determine that the suspects were driving a newer model gold Acura TLX.

    On Aug. 20, police said another series of similar thefts happened to the same Mitsubishi-type vehicles within the city. A similar style Acura was used in the thefts, as seen in security footage.
