HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Blair County is continuing to explore options for spending their share of the money from the state’s opioid trust settlement.

The Commissioners have created a committee comprised of officials with the Blair County Department of Social Services and the county’s Drug and Alcohol Program who they believe are best suited to create a plan.

Approved at Thursday’s meeting, the members appointed to the committee are Trisha Johnson, Joe Cox, Drew Yingling, Amy Marten-Shanafelt, Coleen Heim and Judy Rosser.

The formation of the panel comes after the commissioners had to rescind their initial resolution for the funds in early August after the state said they could not allocate that money to the county drug court.
