    Indiana man sentenced for conspiring to distribute cocaine, heroin

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — An Indiana man pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating federal narcotic laws, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Olshan.

    Lamar Johnson, 42, pleaded guilty before Senior United States District Judge Kim Gibson. According to documents presented in court, from Aug. 2018 to March 2023, Johnson conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine as well as a quantity of both heroin and crack cocaine.

    Following the guilty plea, Johnson was sentenced to 60 months in prison which will be followed by four years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Arnold Bernard Jr. is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

    The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and Homeland
    Security Investigations conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Johnson.
    Additional agencies participating in this investigation include the Internal Revenue Service –
    Criminal Investigation, United States Postal Inspection Service, and other local law enforcement
    agencies.
