Data reveals most commonly drawn Powerball, Mega Millions numbers

(WTAJ) — Feeling lucky? Well, one company looked at Powerball and Mega Millions stats and there might be more than luck involved.

Pulsz.com , an online social casino, analyzed statistics from Powerball starting back in 2015 and Powerball (2017) to see which numbers have been drawn the most as one of the five winning numbers.

According to their data, the number three is the most commonly drawn ball at an average of 8.59% of drawings in Mega Millions and Powerball combined. The site said it was drawn in 9.42% of Powerball drawings and 7.76% of Mega Millions drawings.

Next is number 61 which has appeared in 7.7% of Powerball drawings, and since 2017, it has appeared in 7.7% of Mega Millions drawings.

Third place is number 64 in 8.23% of Mega Millions drawings and 8.56% of Powerball drawings.

Number 10 is fourth place. In Mega Millions, it appeared in 7.2% of drawings, and in Powerball, it appeared in 9.27%

In the fifth spot is number 17. Mega Millions stats show it’s been in 7.11% of all drawings, and 8.84% in Powerball.

On the other end of the spectrum, Pulsz said that the number 49 is the least drawn number coming in at 5.35% across Powerball and Mega Millions on average.

“With millions of Americans playing for the top prizes in Mega Millions and Powerball, it’s obvious that some people can go their whole life competing and never win,” a Pulsz spokesperson said. “However, it is interesting to note that certain numbers have a minor edge above the others, which may influence players’ decision-making when picking numbers.”
