STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – People will have the chance to fly in World War II (WWII) warbirds next month.

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Capital Wing and AirPower Tour will fly WWII warbirds at the Bridgeport/Sikorsky Airport in Stratford from June 7 to 9.

Up to three passengers can fly in the Capital Wing’s Fairchild UC-61 Forwarder. The 1930s aircraft was designed with gull wings and a unique “inverted” 200hp engine.

Officials said it was used by the US Coast Guard during WWII to spot enemy submarines off the Atlantic coast.

The tour will also bring its P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter,” a C-45 Expeditor, North American T-6 advanced trainer, and a Boeing PT-13 Stearman bi-plane.
