    Cavachon named winner of Branford beer contest

    BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A 4-year-old cavachon from Branford will be the face of a special edition beer from Thimble Island Brewing Company.

    The Branford brewery held its second Luck of the Irish label contest, drawing in hundreds who wanted their pet to be featured on the bottles.

    The winner, Bailey, loves people and sitting on laps.

    Money from the contest went to the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade committee also donated $4,000 to a local animal shelter.
