CORNWALL, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have charged a second person with stealing more than $132,000 worth of antiques from a home in Cornwall — after finding his DNA on an energy drink left at the scene.

Anthony Barron Buonaiuto, 39, of Torrington, has been charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny.

He joins Jessica Ann Thompson, of Newtown, who has been charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny. She turned herself in last month.

The duo stole paintings, art and other antiques, according to a police report. Among the missing items are Indian, Native American and Indonesian artifacts, small sculptures, magazines and antique masks. Other items like a chainsaw, power drill and a CD player were also taken.

Police initially found out about the burglary in September. When an officer arrived, books, paintings and other items were scattered throughout the house. The thieves also left an energy drink can behind.

The chainsaw was later found by a ranger at Macedonia State Park. Stolen items also were posted on an auction web site.

Buonaiuto name was on a bank account that received $45,000 in an advance payment for items that were reported stolen. He also emailed the auction company he was using to sell the antiques.
