TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A driver ignored a red traffic light before crashing into a residence’s porch Saturday morning in Torrington.

The Torrington Police Department says that at 6:15 a.m., a 25-year-old female was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala along Prospect St. at a high rate of speed.

The operator sped through a red light at the intersection of Prospect and Church Streets, which caused the Chevrolet to go airborne, says the police department.

The driver then lost control and skidded before hitting a curb and flagpole. The Chevrolet eventually came to a stop after crashing into the porch of a house on 397 Prospect St.

The female operator did not sustain significant injuries and all occupants of the home were unharmed.

At this time, no charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
