HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford residents walked around the north end of the city on Wednesday night to take suggestions on how to make the streets safer.

A major concern of the groups is road safety.

“One of the things that worries me a lot is that people aren’t obeying stop signs anymore, stop lights,” Steven Harris, a retired fire captain, said. “There’s speeding. We have a lot of school buses during the week.”

Dozens of agencies walked around looking to improve the sidewalks, the roads and more to make it safer for pedestrians and bicyclists to get around the area.

After they finished their walk, they emailed their photos and suggestions to the City of Hartford, where they will be passed up the chain until changes are made.
