WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — Costumes, candy and orange lights on a cool fall night is probably the last feeling on your mind right now.

But for the made-up and macabre inhabitants of Inferna in Terrum —May just means we’re halfway to Halloween.

The haunted attraction’s door creaked open tonight for Wheeling to step through its gauntlet of screams, skeletons and killer clowns.

Those who dared to pay the admission price were greeted by actors jumping out of blind corners, all to celebrate the fun of being frightened.

“So we get people that are really scared, but then we get people who think they’re not scared. They’re scared…We do Summerween, we do Saint Patrick’s Day, we do Christmas and we do the whole Halloween season. Scare you soon!”

Carly Riggi, Plays “Mustard the Clown”

The attraction on Jacob Street in south Wheeling features two floors and was previously the home of a tobacco warehouse.
