    McMechen hosts 2024 Memorial Day Parade

    MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. ( WTRF ) – Community members gathered this morning as McMechen held their annual Memorial Day Parade.

    In previous years, the parade was run by the American Legion, but a group of volunteers got together this yea r to make sure the parade continued.

    Following the parade, there was an empty seat ceremony where commissioner Mike Ferro spoke and laid a wreath.

    There was also a 21-gun salute in honor of all the veterans who died protecting our freedoms.
