Madison Elementary welcomes students with free school supplies at their “Welcome Back” event

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – Entering a new school year can be overwhelming with all the new supplies and faces that come with it, but Madison Elementary is making that transition a bit smoother for their students.

They hosted their annual Welcome Back to School event to kick off the 2024-2025 school year.

They invited all students and families to grab a free meal, drop off and pick up new school supplies, visit their new classrooms, and dip their toes into the upcoming year.

”We have about 18 community education partnerships with us here, just giving wonderful things out to our students and their families. So, we’re really glad that they’re all here to do that. It looks like a great turnout. I would say we pretty much have all of them here, so what a great, wonderful way to start our school year.”

Cougar swag items like socks, keychains, and hair ribbons were available, as well as the chance to win some prizes.

School starts for first through fifth graders at Madison Elementary School this Friday, August 16 ^th .
