After a 7-win season ending in a playoff loss, Edison wants nothing to do with maintaining that, instead, they’re setting the bar higher for 2024.
“We’ve had good seasons, and not to take anything away from those seasons but it ended early. You know so are we going to stay mission oriented you know home playoff game, or are we just going to maintain, and maintain is just be good enough to get in the playoffs, and we’re not looking for that.”

To realize said mission the Wildcats have amped up their conditioning all summer.
“If we’re not in shape that’s my fault we start running in the summer and it carries all the way over the season and that’s something you can’t control very many things but strength and conditioning is one of them.”

Another thing coach can control is his depth chart: And this year Junior JD Henderson returns to the top of it as QB1. Joining him behind the line is speedster Brett Hellyer and the punisher Matt Evans. Out wide Trever Eisnaugle looks to be the lead receiver with Andrew Kirkman, Cole Pittman & Zach Vangozzen in the mix as well. While few of these names show up in the preseason rankings, this team has the utmost faith in them.
“We told them you guys are like a bunch of no-names, lists come out, not too many peoples names are on there, you know but we as a staff got a lot of confidence in what the kids can do.”

“You know I think it’s going to be a very strong offense, a lot of smart guys on my line, I feel like we have a lot of strength in other words, a lot of our guys our very strong and they can move people.”
Enzo Aloggia- OL/DL
The Offensive line expects to be a powerhouse as well with 3 returners and a fourth transferring in for his senior year. That 4th has a warning for opposing defenses.
“We’re gonna pancake you”
Pancakes indeed will be on the menu for Edison’s opener at Shenandoah August 23rd.
