Call of Duty series using West Virginia in latest game

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — The Call of Duty series of video games is one of the highest selling first-person shooter series in the industry , and its latest entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, features a level in West Virginia.

According to a blog on the game’s website , the map is called “Liberty Falls” and takes place in a small fictional West Virginian town of the same name. The level is part of the game’s Zombies mode, a long-running part of the series that sees players trying to survive against rounds of undead hordes as they explore their surroundings, completing goals and finding secrets.

The Liberty Falls map is one of two maps that will be released for the game mode when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on Oct. 25. The other map, “Terminus,” takes place on an island complex in the Philippine Sea.

More information about the Liberty Falls map is slated to be released on Aug. 28.
