Ohio Police say that four men were arrested after they assaulted a man at his home, that was fueled by alcohol.

The New Philadelphia Police say they responded to Fair Ave NW for an assault that took place.

Through an investigation, police found that the involved parties, who all work for the same Energy Service company, had been consuming alcohol at an establishment on the day of the attack. After several hours, police say they left the establishment and went to the victim’s residence and knocked until he answered.

Police say once the victim answered, he was immediately assaulted and then forced back into the home by the suspects. Police say the man was drug into another room where he continued to be assaulted. The subjects eventually left in two separate trucks.

The victim’s wife was home at the time and called 911 after the subjects left the scene. Police say the victim’s wife witnessed portions of the attack.

Police believe this is not a random act, but was fueled by alcohol. The victim was targeted by this group for personal reasons, according to police.

The victim had sustained multiple facial fractures, abrasions to his face and head and a cut on his ear requiring multiple sutures, according to police. He was treated at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and was released with surgery to follow.

Christopher Beatty, age 35 from New Philadelphia, Henry Wellman, age 25 from New Philadelphia, Jared Soltero age 36 from Minerva, and Todd Riordan age 38 from Massillon were arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault.

All four men made their appearances in New Philadelphia Municipal Court and the case will be reviewed by the Tuscarawas County Grand Jury
