A nice weekend, heat returns this week

RICHMOND, Va. -- Tonight will be clear and very comfortable, with lows ranging from the mid 50s to around 60.

Sunday will be mainly sunny and comfortable. It will be a touch warmer with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s.

The heat and humidity will inch up as we begin the new week. Highs will reach the low 90s Monday and Tuesday, then the mid and upper 90s on Wednesday. That's likely to be the hottest day of the week, with the heat index reaching between 100-105. There may be an isolated shower or thunderstorm later Monday and then again late Wednesday, but most locations will stay dry.

By Thursday, a few scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop and that rain chance will remain with us through Saturday. Highs will be in the mid 90s Thursday, and around 90 both Friday and Saturday.
