    INDOT announces temporary closure of SR 246 bridges

    VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Starting on Wednesday, April 10,  the Indiana Department of Transportation plans to temporarily close two bridges.

    According to a release from INDOT, the bridges on State Road 246 over Turman Creek, about three-fourths of a mile west of US 41 and North of Farmersburg, will be temporarily closed for rehabilitation and maintenance work.

    The work is expected to last until late October and the official detour for the construction project is U.S. 41 to S.R. 48 to S.R. 63.

    INDOT is encouraging motorists to plan for alternative routes and to avoid the area if possible.
