TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Housing, childcare, job assistance; these were just a few of the things the community could learn about at a community resource fair Tuesday.

The fair was held by the Vigo County Public Library.

More than a dozen local organizations were there to share info on resources ranging from mental health to dental care to recovery centers.

Attendees could also get free haircuts, and were treated to a free lunch.

Library experience manager Anthony Suggs said the goal of the fair is to provide a variety of resources for residents in a one stop shop situation.

“I think it’s just to reach out to the community, to show what we have in our community,” Suggs said. “A lot of people do not know what’s in this community, so this is one way to spread the word.”

Suggs added the goal is for the library to hold a resource fair every quarter. The next one is tentatively scheduled for September.
