VALPARAISO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Senior Mike Sears hit his 20th and 21st home runs in the Sycamores’ 13-4 win over Valparaiso to set a new single-season home run record for Indiana State Baseball.

Sears breaks the old record of 20 set by Boi Rodriguez in the 1985 season.

Jared Spencer led the way on the mound throwing 5.1 innings and striking out 10.

Indiana State extends their winning streak against Valparaiso to 23 games.

The Sycamores improve to 37-11 (20-5 MVC) and will go for their 20th consecutive MVC series win on Friday at 2 p.m.
