    Accident on US 41 between car and ambulance

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— UPDATE: According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck occurred around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The ambulance was from Parke County and was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 41 near Head Avenue with its lights and siren activated. According to Chief Deputy Steve Meng, the ambulance was approaching a southbound vehicle and tried to go around the vehicle to its left. The other vehicle also went to its left and the ambulance crashed into its rear end.

    A Trans-Care ambulance was called to the scene and continued to transport the patient to Union Hospital. An EMS worker from the ambulance involved was also taken to seek medical treatment.


    An accident between an ambulance and a passenger vehicle temporarily shut down US 41 this morning.

    On Tuesday morning an accident on U.S. Highway 41 and East Evans Road caused traffic restrictions. According to our reporter on the scene, traffic was temporarily restricted in both directions.

    The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. There has been no word yet on injuries to any individuals involved. We’re working to learn more information on this developing story.  We’ll keep you updated on air and on our website.
