TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)—The Vigo County CEO program kicked-off its second year. The kickoff event was held at the Vigo County History Event Center Tuesday night.

During the event the program introduced the new class of senior students to the CEO               board, investors, and business community. These students are from the three Vigo County High Schools. Students in the program will learn entrepreneurship, meet business owners, and visit businesses in the community.

Each student is also part of a mentorship program that allows business leaders to help CEO participants develop and carry out a personal entrepreneurial plan of their own.

“They learn how to start a business. We expose them to a lot of wonderful aspects of out community and you know hopefully with a little luck they’ll decide to return after graduation and start their businesses here and raise their families here,” said Chair Board of CEO Program Mark Metheny.

The first day of class is August 19, and will continue through its culmination at the CEO trade show near the end of the local school year.
