ROBINSON, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Robinson head coach James Kent feels a little more comfortable with his Maroons as he heads into his second season.

The Maroons went just 3-6 a season ago, but all of their losses came to playoff opponents.

“If you look at the youth we had on our roster last year, we started a lot of sophomores and juniors. Getting them to come back is going to be really helpful,” says Kent.

“Just having that experience of every loss we had, whether it was a close game or not was to a playoff contender. I think that shows we can play with anybody in our conference and anybody in our area.”

The Maroons open at Effingham on August 30th.
