    Terre Haute police announce massive drug bust

    TERRE HAUTE, Incs. (WTWO) — The Terre Haute Police Department announced Wednesday that they made several arrests and seized more than $100,000 in cash along with a substantial amount of drugs, guns and vape cartridges, officers wrote in a Wednesday news release.

    “Over the past month, the Vigo County Drug Task Force has been actively engaged in multiple investigations, resulting in significant successes,” they wrote. “The investigations resulted in the confiscation of over $100,000 in U.S. currency, more than five pounds of marijuana, three pounds of methamphetamine, over 1,000 illegal THC vape cartridges, and several firearms.”

    The agency was joined in these investigations by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), representatives from the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program, and the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office.

    Three people were arrested in the case.

    John Butler, 52, of Terre Haute was charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamine.

    Thomas W. Brickert, 22, of Terre Haute was charged with dealing marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.

    And 23-year-old Odunayo Ilemobayo of Terre Haute was charged with dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
