RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) announced more than $1 million for an Early Head Start Program in Raleigh County.

The Raleigh County Community Action Association’s Early Head Start program received $1,327,481 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

I’m pleased HHS is investing more than $1.3 million into Raleigh County’s Community Action Association’s Early Head Start program. No matter their background, every child in West Virginia deserves access to quality education. As a long-time supporter of Early Head Start programs and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for funding that supports educational opportunities for all children across the Mountain State.

Children up to 5 years old receive services through Early Head Start that help with emotional development, family well-being, early learning, and health and safety.
