Breeze Airways to offer direct flights from Charleston to New York

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — Earlier today, leadership with Breeze Airways and West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) announced that the airline will begin offering flights to New York-Newark from Charleston starting on November 14, 2024.

This partnership with Breeze Airways continues to exceed all expectations, and I’m thrilled the airline is expanding its service to connect West Virginia with the New York area. Airports significantly contribute to our economy, enhance tourism, and make our state more reachable. Since March 2023, Breeze has committed to implementing five new destinations through this partnership and currently offers flights from Myrtle Beach, SC, Orlando, FL, and Tampa, FL to CRW.

CRW had a record month for passengers in May, a total of 12,606 people boarding aircrafts. Over 38,000 travelers passed through the airport in May, exceeding totals from May 2023 by 21 percent. This made it one of the busiest months at the airport since before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.

The 20 million residents of America’s largest metropolitan area finally have access to America’s premier tourism destination.
