GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) – The Future Farmers of America, or FFA have about 300 items on display for you to check out on the West End of the Cecil Underwood Building. These items are completed mostly by high schoolers throughout the state of West Virginia and include cut flowers, potted flowers, produce, nuts, canned goods, wood-working and eggs.

Kari Gay, Central Region Vice President for the WV FFA Association says events like the State Fair provide a lot of opportunities for people to see how students in the state are making a big impact, especially in how food is produced.

“I think it’s important to raise awareness to where your food does comes from. A lot of folks think the food just comes from the grocery store but this shows that kids from around the state are learning to produce different agricultural commodities or even making agricultural commodities,” comments Kari Gay, Central Region Vice President for the WV FFA Association.
