BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – Woodrow Wilson High will be receiving some much needed water line repairs. The school is currently working with water lines that are almost 60 years old.

Raleigh County Board of Education approved a $2 million bid to replace the lines back in July, 2024.

The School Building Authority of West Virginia will pay the other half. Principal Ryan Stafford, said there will be little to no change in the traffic pattern for the school, thanks to the great communication with the workers.

“Between 6:50 and 7:20 to right around 2:20 to around 3, this is a pretty busy place with traffic, people coming and going. But they’ve been wonderful to work with and everything has been going smooth,” said Stafford.

School officials say once the water line is finished, they can move on to other needed renovations. This also includes the main building of the high school.
