HINTON, WV (WVNS) – Are you looking for a fun way to spend your Labor Day weekend?

The historic Camp Meeting on the Greenbrier, better known as the former Peyton Camp Meeting, is returning to the Summers County 4-H Camp Thursday, August 29 through Monday, September 2.

Church services begin every morning at 10 and every evening at 7, featuring David Gallimore, John Wishon, and special music by River’s Edge and the Mark Dubbeld Family.

There are even youth games and services all weekend long.

Camp President, Jeff Chambers told 59News that Labor Day is the perfect time of year to hold this camp.

“It Is an old timey, I guess you might say for lack of a better term, time to set back and a time to worship God and really get away from the world for these five days. I just can’t even explain the services, you really would enjoy it if you could make it out to a service or all the services,” said Chambers.

Chambers encouraged attendees to bring a lawn chair if they have one for services, which will take place under a big tent they are setting up.

There are plenty of fun things for everyone to get involved, like the field games on Saturday afternoon, the Singspiration Sunday afternoon, and the end-of camp luncheon on Monday.

Attending this camp and eating meals are completely free.
