LEONARD (WWJ) A motorcycle crash in northern Oakland County left a young Romeo woman in critical condition.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s said she was driving her 2024 Honda CMX500 motorcycle northbound on Rochester Road in the village of Leonard, approaching the curve of Betts Road, on Saturday around 4:20 p.m.

At the same time, a 2019 Dodge Journey approached the same curve. The motorcycle “failed to negotiate, crossed over the double yellow line into the path of the Dodge Journey” and struck it, the sheriff’s office said.

The motorcycle driver is identified as Faith Ann Womble, 21.

A woman from Leonard, 34, was driving the Dodge Journey.

The Addison Township Fire Department rushed Womble to the Ascension Providence Hospital Rochester, then airlifted her to Ascension St. John where she remains in critical condition.

The Oakland Township Fire Department took the driver of the Dodge Journey to Corewell Hospital-Troy, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

According to the sheriff’s office; Womble was wearing a helmet, and the driver of the Dodge Journey was wearing her seatbelt. Neither alcohol or drugs are believed to be factors.
